Look Beyond Empty Walls And Get Inspiration from Your Photos

Do you have empty walls and a hard drive full of photographs? Well here is a little inspiration to help you create your very own photo wall.

Creating a beautiful photo wall gallery in your home is the perfect way to give life to your warm abode because your walls deserve some design lovin’, too.

So where does one begin? Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Photo Wall InspirationHave a goal: Do you have a theme or perhaps, a message you want to convey? Nancy from Nancy Jayde Photography said what she loves most about being a photographer is “capturing those moments that people want remembered and knowing my work is hanging on their walls because they love an image I have taken.”This is your chance to design and showcase a wall of beautiful memories so have a goal from the get-go.
  • Avoid a distracting background: A simple but very effective tip. A noisy background will draw the eyes away from your photographs. Feature Colour is fine and can in many cases help accentuate the frames and photos.
  • Pick out your frames!: The fun part, hooray! Your frames will be the ones to showcase your photos. Bigger frames usually do the trick. But, plain whites or quirky ones can be really effective too! Do not be afraid to have fun mixing and matching different sizes, colours and shapes.
  • Photo Wall Inspiration 2Decide what prints you want framed and displayed: Is it that lovely portrait of yourself or perhaps your child’s finger painting artwork?
Raylee from Wild Violet Collective Photography said she “loves it when her work evokes emotions from people. If they feel happy, sad, get goosebumps, whatever, then I feel like I have done my job right”
The same should be considered when choosing which prints to frame and display, what emotion do you hope to evoke!
  • Lay out your frames, the recycled paper way!: Trace your frames, cut the paper out, tape it on the wall for a preview. It’s an easy way to make changes on your layout without damaging your walls.

Now, sit back and enjoy your Photo Wall Gallery Masterpiece! Photos on walls will always evoke emotions and memories, add personality to any room and when done properly will add timelessness to your home.
