Create Your Sanctuary – For the Creative

How To Create A Sanctuary for the Creative?

Are you a Creative Soul who feels restless if you go too long without being able to release all of your creative talents out into the world?

Create Your Sanctuary - For the CreativeWhere do you feel comfortable, relaxed and ready to let the inspiration and creativity flow? Is there any better place than in the comfort of your very own Home?

One of my artist friends is known to, every once in a while, scream out: “I need to paint! My brushes are calling out to me… I need to escape the dry desert that is my day job!”

Everyone has the innate desire to create something. That is why, it is so important to create your own private sanctuary in your home. A place where you can enjoy your creative pursuits in peace and quiet…. But, how? And, where?

Here are some suggestions for you:

  • Turn your cold basement into a pretty cool home music studio! Line up your guitars, plug in your record player and start filling those music sheets once again with your original jams.
  • The old, forgotten attic can offer that peaceful spot for your easel, paints and brushes.
  • Make use of the “ignored” areas and dreaded junk rooms in your home – it’s ok we all have them!! Sort, declutter, organise and let the magic happen.
  • An Enclosed Sunroom makes for a gorgeous art room especially when it is cold and blistery outside but you can still enjoy the warmth and inspiration of the sun.
  • Scott from BJT Building told us about an insulated panel art studio he built for a client so she can work all year round in comfort surrounded by her gorgeous garden complete with table setting to enjoy her morning cuppa.
  • Sheds can be converted easily into awesome creative retreats at home, line and insulate the walls and ceiling, vermin proof, remove the roller door and put in a sliding one, add some more windows for light and don’t forget add a tea and coffee station or hidden wine cellar for when you invite the ladies over for an afternoon of sewing (aka stitch and bitch!!).

You really can utilise any space in your home, one of my friends even turned an unused pantry into her very own craft room! All those shelves to store her bits and pieces sure worked to her advantage!

Home is where the frenzied pace of everyday life is unwelcome. Within its four walls, you can find and create possibilities, be sure to find your hideaway today and awaken your creativity within.

Awaken your creativity and let your senses experience the tangible products of your mind. Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?
